Abstract

In general, research shows that men and women perceive computers differently. This paper intends to explore the contribution of teachers in either shortening or widening gender gap in use of technology in classroom. A qualitative analysis was conducted where two student teachers were interviewed. The analysis of the interview is discussed in the light of Gender Schema theory. Typical gender schemas were found to influence the participants' perception of use of technology in classroom. Implications for higher education settings and limitations of the study are discussed.
