Abstract
This paper will discuss how educational videos can be used in classrooms to facilitate learning, why and when these videos should be used, and how to create these videos. We will provide an overview of the currently available technology for teachers to screen capture demonstrations, videotape lectures, and create interactive video assignments as well as audio/video responses. We will also discuss some of the free and powerful tools available to record lectures, insert questions when students play a video, and enable students to respond to questions in video or audio formats instead of text. Finally, we will also discuss how to motivate students’ learning interests and collaboration by using these tools.
