Abstract

The prospective cultural paradigm shift (Z. Karvalics, 2012) to be brought about by the currently unfolding Fourth Industrial Revolution highlights the need for digital transformation in the education sphere as well. Accordingly, the digital citizen (Davies, 2006) of the future is required to meet new expectations and possess unprecedented basic skills, and competences (Gyarmathy, 2017). Consequently, the infrastructural, content-based, and methodological aspects of the learning environment should be reconsidered (Racsko, 2016) while such modified perspectives should be prioritised by the education profession (Bedő F., 2017). Since the abovementioned changes exert a radical impact on self and further training schemes our current research effort focuses on teachers as the key human resource of the education arena. Frontal instruction methods characteristic of schools of the industrial society will become less relevant for traditional classroom teaching and during the training of trainers too. Our presentation introduces an on-line training scheme aimed at pedagogues. The innovative program utilizing current research and development results and methodologies is expected to contribute to the goals of the digital transformation process.
