Abstract

Digitalization in higher education sets a trend of digital support in students and teachers daily working routine. New ways of presenting and accessing teaching materials, designing lectures or structuring and processing studies are opened up by new technologies such as a digital study assistant. Rapid development of technologies in higher education leads to constraints regarding its realization. For this reason, there is a need to examine barriers, because they could lead to a lack of acceptance and therefore to a low intention to use. In the context of the the SIDDATA joint project, three universities have surveyed the barriers of a digital study assistant using an online survey for students (N=514). The aim of this Paper is to categorize the collected barriers into a taxonomy from the field of digital transformation (DT). On this basis, barriers can be discussed, which represents an important step in the development of sustainable solution concepts.
