
Applying ISO 9126 for Quality Evaluation of Adaptive Hypermedia Systems

Abstract
Adaptive hypermedia systems (AHS) build a model of the individual user and apply it to adapt the hypermedia page presented to the user by changing page's content or suggesting links to the user - according to his knowledge, goals and preferences. Information about the AHS itself can be useful for assessing the intrinsic characteristics of the software and its utility in their environment. The present paper applies ISO standard's high level quality characteristics on AHS. It integrates, in a hierarchy, the important factors of quality using ISO 9126 standard factors as a baseline and provides a means for quick appraisal of AHS from high-level per-spective. The framework has been applied on a web-based adaptive tutor to demonstrate it.
