The paper describes the initial conditions and the first stage of a case study focusing on Information Communication Technologies (ICT), the affective teacher-student relationship and collaborative learning and which was presented at the ED-MEDIA 2004. We describe the dynamics we wish to establish in the educative community, the e-mail platform used. We describe, in detail, the characteristics of the students' and their families' computer equipment, as well as their professional and personal use of ICT and we summarize the first steps of the experience on the field and its evolution two months after. Finally, we present some excerpts of participations of agents of the project that reveal enthusiasm in the participation and that motivate us.
