Facing the heterogenious landscape of Learning Management Systems (LMS) used in higher education worldwide and knowing the still fast development and turnover of these, the question might arise how to become independent of an LMS, in order to do instructional design and then decide which media to be used for educational support in the scenario of e- or blended learning. This paper focuses on a conceptual modeling approach that provides teachers at the instructional design phase allowing them to stay independent of a distribution platform.
