Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of Taiwan children's cognitive styles and its effectiveness on Internet Chinese learning system in elementary school. A one-group pretest-posttest design research method was applied.There were two phases in this study. At the first phase, a scale of cognitive style and a pre-test in the web-based Mandarin learning system were applied for elementary students. In second phase, children learned from the web-based Mandarin learning system, a post-test based on the learning content of the first phase was applied. The statistical processes were followed for analyzing collected data.Conclusions were drawn from the analysis. Data analysis of both phases, references for designer of web-based Mandarin learning system to establish web-based learning environment were discussed and suggested
