In 1997 a partnership was created between the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM)'s Virtual University and the University of British Columbia (UBC). This partnership resulted in the development of a Certificate in Technology-based Distributed Learning, a series of five graduate courses launched internationally in the fall of 1997. This paper and presentation will explore the international project work and online collaborative experiences of a group of international students registered in a web-based, graduate-level distance education course offered by UBC and its partner, ITESM.
