Abstract

In this paper we aim to describe major aspects of the process of developing a videocase for use by preservice teachers. The project described is the gBest Practices h project, funded by a Preparing Tomorrow fs Teachers to Use Technology (PT3) grant, which involves a collaboration of Arizona State University, the Arizona K-12 center, and Northern Arizona University. The steps using in videotaping for the Best Practices project will be described, along with some general ideas that might be useful for beginners in this process. Some basic and technical terms and considerations of the pre-production and production stages will be described. Some resolutions for difficulties and some overall suggestions are also included in the paper. Even though developing a videocase may sound complex, we hope to provide some suggestions that can make the process more effective and efficient, resulting in videos that can be beneficial to educators.
