Abstract

Cartoons have been a part of our lives since we were children. But recently, many K-12 educators and college professors have begun to use cartoons as a way to display mathematics content in the online classroom. Powtoon is a website that is dedicated to creating cartoons for any and all online courses. All of the cartoons have been created and participants can fill in their course content in various text boxes. This resource is especially useful in the online classroom because instructors can use their own voice to teach the information that is contained within the cartoon. Overall, cartoons are a way to teach online mathematics students about the course in a way that they can understand it. Most people enjoy cartoons so why not use cartoons to teach mathematics online.
