Abstract

The rapid growth of online programs in higher education requires more faculty teaching online. Developing and offering online faculty development programs to prepare faculty to design and teach online has become a critical task for academic staff in this arena. The study examined the design of an online teaching certificate course developed according to Quality Matters (QM) rubric standards to determine its quality, effectiveness, and faculty needs to become online instructors. It also attempted to determine the relationship between QM essential standards and faculty perceived learning.
