Abstract

In order to introduce e-learning into an enterprise it is not sufficient to consider the software perspective or the didactical perspective exclusively. Instead, an organisational perspective is needed to ensure that e-learning can be systematically integrated into the company's education and advanced vocational training as well as into its information systems. This paper presents a reference model that can be used for designing and operating e-learning processes and e-learning organisations. It can help managers to identify important tasks and necessary information when setting up those processes and organisations, and thus minimises the necessary effort, cost and time involved.
