Abstract: Technology is changing the realm of instruction in post-secondary institutions. Faculty members have been accustomed to teaching in a traditional face-to-face environment, but are now being encouraged to incorporate technology into their instructional practices. A skills and knowledge gap presently exists restricting most faculty members from using technology to its full instructional potential. The Instructional Designers at the University of Regina are currently working on an initiative to fill that gap which involves the design, development, and implementation of a professional development program for course developers. This program is aimed towards teaching faculty members about online instruction while simultaneously allowing them to be learners in a technological medium. The University of Regina is in the development and testing stages of the project and wants to share this concept with other institutions while at the same time gaining feedback.
