Abstract
This study assesses changes resulting from the MITTEN program. The project's primary goal is to prepare a cadre of future educators with improved knowledge, skills, and confidence regarding the integration of information technology into the teaching and learning process. Within four cohort groups, 69 student teachers teamed with their 69 mentoring inservice teachers participated in the study. In addition, 25 university-level faculty and 9 student teaching supervisors participated in the project. The data collected through a technology survey administered twice, in a pre-test/post-test design. Findings suggest that over the course of the program the project participants significantly increased their confidence and competence in technology literacy as well as integration of information technology into the teaching and learning process. Evidence, therefore, suggest that the professional development activities taken place within the MITTEN program have been effective.
