Abstract

In order to help teachers envision digital products in action in classrooms, the authors look at three examples of how teachers they know enhance learning time by employing technology efficiently. The examples include: (1) a social studies teacher who begins each class period with a three-question formative assessment using the website Socrative.com; (2) a geometry teacher who videotapes his lessons for the following day using an interactive whiteboard and microphone and posts the videos to YouTube for students to view as homework or during part of class the next day; and (3) Holly Zimmerman's own 10th grade English classroom where she uses Google Docs to teach her students how to write thesis statements.
