Abstract
Abstract: The evolution of E-portfolios over the past several years has been dramatic. Universities across the country are working to develop models that speak to the needs of their administration, faculty and student body. Current trends in education have highlighted the need for standards based portfolios that provide documentation of the skills and achievement necessary to be "Highly Qualified" and portfolios are playing no small roll in the college accreditation process. This paper and will discuss the role of e-portfolios as a tool for authentic assessment highlighting a model developed for the College of Education Health and Human Sciences at the University of Tennessee discussing its evolution and the formal evaluation currently underway. Preliminary results will be available and discussed as a part of the conference presentation including findings, recommended next steps and questions for continued study.
