Abstract

This paper evaluates the supportive use of infographic and text based material in a web programming context. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and present student evaluations of the supportive use of infographic and text based material in assisting them to complete a task based on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The students of this study are 40 first grade students (future teacher candidates) in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology from one of the state universities in Turkey. The data were collected through open ended questions after the task. The results demonstrated that the students both favoured the use of infographic and text based material in assisting them to complete the task. When the submitted files were examined, the results showed that the students who used infographic were more successful in completing the steps of the task.
