Abstract

The purpose of this paper and presentation is to share the development of an online Hawaiian language course at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Details of the workflow and development process, and specific instructional strategies are described. Course development was a collaborative effort utilizing many teams through a cross-campus partnership. The course itself will be shown and the tools used in its development demonstrated. In addition, lessons learned and future implications for building online language courses will be shared in hopes of benefiting others contemplating similar development endeavors.
