Abstract

This paper introduces a small pilot project called Young Creators Project, which aims to bring innovative technologies into a school that serves underprivileged students in New Jersey. The technologies that it focuses are educational robotics and digital fabrication. The goal of the project is to have selected students from the school to take part in an educational robotics competition in Spring 2010. The project also involved pre-service students in undergraduate program to become a mentor of the students participating. Project aims to assess influences the project brings on participating students, teachers and pre-service teachers.
