Abstract

Abstract: In programming education, it is important to foster the ability to create an algorithm by a control structure and to express an algorithm in a program language. In particular, creating algorithms fosters the problem-solving ability. Therefore, we developed a learning support system for education focused on the process of learning to create an algorithm through trial and error. The system was implemented for the practice of introductory C programming. After the practice, we investigated the students’ ability and awareness of programming and found that their knowledge and ability necessary for programming had significantly improved.
