Abstract

This paper outlines design considerations for facilitating task-based based foreign language teaching and learning online. The tools available to facilitate online teaching and learning exist on a continuum of media richness and interactivity. Teachers must not only focus on pedagogy, they must be able to match the appropriate instructional technology tools to facilitate learning. The evolution of computer mediated communications, social networking, and Web 2.0 applications provide an increasing variety of ways for instructors to facilitate experiential task-based L2 learning online.
