Abstract
Tertiary students increasingly have access to their own technology in addition to that provided by the institution. This paper reports findings from five surveys conducted over the last decade at one university in New Zealand. Students' access to a variety of forms of technology, including computers, the Internet, laptops and portable devices has increased over time. In addition, students at different levels and in different academic divisions appeared to be adopting different forms of technology at different rates. Despite having access to computers on campus, students increasingly have access to technology at their residence, and are also bringing it to campus with them.
