Abstract
College of Education at Shinshu University is one of the grantees of “Support Program for Improving Graduate School Education” funded by Japan's MEXT and JSPS. Our project facilitates inservice teachers at our graduate school in education to become action researchers. We provide them with professional development courses which emphasize “Lesson Study” for enhancement of pedagogical content knowledge in specific subject areas. We introduced the team mentoring system for inservice teachers’ lesson study, “Lesson Study Arena.” It’s based on the collaboration between content area professors and method course professors.
