Application of New Technologies and Tools in Simulation Development and Learning on Computer Architectures

There are a lot of computer architecture books as well as simulation tools for learning education in the world and inside our Department. In order to improve the distance education in this area we are using new learning methodology and technologies. For this aim, we tested new techniques and tools to deliver task based on courses inside the IPSS_EE project with good results. We are now involving in the final testing of the DIPSEIL project, (an evolvement of IPSS_EE) what allows a multilingual, distributed and open environment. We developed a new course for the Computer Architecture (Motorola 68000) Learning and Simulation with task based on orientation. The department is working to implement a new Internet web-based simulation tool written in Java and to be integrated inside the Learning Management Systems and web version. This is the evolution of our DOS and Turbo Pascal tools (used today yet) and some end-term and PhD works about interfacing, database instruction management and multi-level simulation help that are focused now in distributed web-based µP simulation.
