Abstract

National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers in Japan were published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in Japan in February 2007. College of Education at Shinshu University has begun to reform ICT courses for preservice teachers with the standards. We conducted a pilot survey on our prospective teachers' competency to use ICT in class and schools. We will reflect results of the survey on our ICT courses and student teachers' teaching portfolios. We believe our challenges lead our students into building their ICT competency.
