Abstract
Distance Education in a First Nations context is an important acid test for the successful integration of culturally relevant teaching materials and methods. We would argue here that there are First Nation school boards that work closely with isolated as well as regional communities with great success in an education style that is in tune with learners from the First Nations in Canada. This paper will identify successful examples of such partnerships and conclude with lessons for the wider community.
