Abstract
The showcase can be considered an authentic learning and assessment tool given all the knowledge students must apply in preparation for this activity. More than displaying or exhibiting projects and artifacts, students must undergo a reflection process, coaching, and training. In addition, students get to interact with others, demonstrate the skills they acquired creating the projects, and answer questions. With the right instructional design application and planning, all these components of a showcase can be used as authentic assessment tools in courses. In this roundtable discussion, the facilitators will discuss when and how a showcase can be used as an assessment or evaluation tool, how to organize a student showcase, and the value the showcase has for students.
