Poor web site design can cause difficulties for specific groups of users. By applying the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines to a web site, the amount of possible users who can successfully view the content of that site will increase especially for those who are in the disabled and older adult categories of online users. Older adults are coming online in ever increasing numbers and are constantly facing web accessibility barriers that prevent them from accessing web content. This article reports the results of evaluating a selection of sites which were assessed in accordance with the web content accessibility guidelines.
