Abstract
This paper presents students’ perceptions of what they want in a practicum and what they actually get during their practicum experience. One of the main results indicate that preservice teachers do not acquire enough teaching experience during practicum courses. Also, despite teacher preparation efforts in mentor selection, some of the teachers do not know how to maximize student learning while they practice in their classrooms.
