Abstract

This project focused on the design of a teacher education course built upon the foundation of internationally-recognized standards for educators. The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Educators provided clear direction in the design process. Analysis of existing materials detected that many changes would be necessary to bring the course into alignment with the standards; design and development of new materials was undertaken in order to better support the standards. The use of ISTE Standards for Educators as a framework for course design led to the development of a stronger course that better prepares student teachers for their future careers in education
