Abstract

With the goal of encouraging integration of technology into project-based teaching, Intel Teach to the Future arrived on the worldwide educational stage at a critical moment. As ICT has transformed society, many countries have recognized the need to educate their young people in a different way. Intel Teach to the Future is a program designed to encourage 21st Century teaching and learning in a world where, very often, 20th Century teaching practice remains the norm. Evaluation findings suggest that the program has the potential to encourage teachers to experiment with new resources and teaching methods that can help their students gain the skills and knowledge they will need in a changing society. However, issues related to technology access, existing pedagogical knowledge and program alignment with national goals present challenges.
