Abstract

This presentation identifies and defines ancillary communication as a unique communication strategy that is emerging in online courses. We will present current research in online learning that provides data driven suggestions on how to implement ancillary communication in an online course. We will also introduce ancillary communication as an intentional instructional strategy and present strategies and recommendations for its use.
