Abstract

In this study it is investigated whether lesson study approach affects critical thinking skills. In the study implemented with the one shot case study design-one of the pre-experimental design-, the study group has been determined with the convenience sampling -one of the nonprobability sampling. Pre-service Arabic language teachers which attending to pedagogical certification programme, Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty, Ataturk University in 2015-2016 spring term, were selected as study group. 38 pre-service teachers, including 26 female and 12 male pre-service teachers, participated into the study voluntarily. As result, it has been concluded that lesson study has both effects on developments of pre-service teachers’ critical thinking skills, and also has some limitations about it.
