Abstract

In the last decade Finland’s education system has attracted attention due to its results in international testing and evaluation. One area of particular interest is Finnish teacher education and many teacher education providers have designed courses to develop international educators. This paper examines the online implementation of a Finnish teacher education program in Brazil with a small but diverse cohort of Brazilian teachers. This is the first time that a fully online Finnish program, delivered in English, has been available in Brazil. This paper will examine the design of the program and investigate the experiences of the participants during their first module. It will consider the challenges faced by both participants and facilitator as they implement the program. It will also consider how the program will develop as the participants move onto future modules of the program.
