Abstract

Differences in cultural backgrounds between the instructional designer and the instructor and the students enrolled in online classes, creates a potential for misunderstandings. Differences in language and communication as well as differences in learning styles and preferences can negatively impact students’ learning. Blackboard learning management system includes options that can be used to make online courses culturally accessible to students.
