Abstract

This study describes the way preservice elementary teachers worked to create electronic portfolios that address the national teacher education standards and University of Northern Colorado requirements. This study also outlines the process of helping students design and develop their portfolios. The discussion of the process includes: types of artifacts and how to best organize artifacts that would match educational standards. The electronic portfolios created by preservice teachers will showcase students' work and prepare them for their pursuit of a job. This study also investigated what preservice teachers in the Professional Teacher Education Programs at the University of Northern Colorado see as important about the process of constructing electronic portfolios.
