Abstract
In 1999, Tennessee Technological University (TTU) was awarded a three-year Implementation Grant. These funds supported the placement of multimedia carts in 22 partner schools and 6 partner Arts & Sciences departments, workshops and one-on-one training for teacher education faculty, curriculum redesign of the technology requirements, and limited training for mentor teachers in the partner schools. Federal funds were matched with Technology Access Fees paid by TTU students, earnings from a million dollar endowment, and university funds used to support expanded training for mentor teachers. This presentation will focus on the lessons learned from PT3 as they are evident in the daily life of TTU faculty, students, and mentor teachers more than a year after the end of PT3 funding.
