Abstract

This presentation examines the use of a collaborative lesson planning project in a K-8 social studies methods course. The goal of the project was to assist prospective elementary and middle school social studies teachers in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and dispositions essential for planning instruction. Each task in the model is presented along with examples of students' work. The role of WebCT in supporting the project is examined.
