Abstract

This paper implements grounded design practice by redesigning a Web-enhanced case-based learning environment for preservice teachers. Grounded design provides a methodology to design learning environments consistent with emerging learning and design theories. Case-based reasoning principles guide the design of this course featuring case-based doing (CBD) activities and a Web-based CBD tool. Four conditions and five foundations in grounded design are introduced to illustrate this design experience.
