Abstract

This article introduces the authors’ experiences to explore effective use of cloud resources in online classes, and to prepare education majors to use and integrate cloud resources into teaching. First, it will summarize the definition of “cloud computing” and introduce some cloud resources. Second, it will demonstrate some specific widely-used cloud tools for teaching and learning. Finally, introduced will be the authors experiences in an advanced technology integration course in which teacher education students (a) evaluated the quality of some cloud resources/tools, and (b) designed technology integration case project with the cloud tools using instructional design theories and models. Tips, cautions, and some common issues in using those cloud tools will be discussed. Analysis of the quality of the tools, and some excellent samples of the design will be presented.
