Abstract
We introduce the Chinese NTET (National Teachers’ Skill Test in Applied Educational Technology in Secondary and Elementary School). With the background that the government has invested much in the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) infrastructure in schools, the test has been initiated to check the skill in applied education technologies of school teachers, managers and technicians, as well as to promote the practical and pedagogical application of educational technology represented by modern information and communication technologies and its integration into curriculum. The main examination content includes basic knowledge of educational technology, teaching syllabus design, resource preparation, instruction implementation, evaluation and assessment. The examination form is the pure CBT (Computer Cased Test). This test has been put into practice since 2005, has drawn great attentions both from theoretical researchers and practical educators. Related training programs will also be introduced. The paper ends with a terse conclusion and discussion.
