Abstract
The Centre for Applied Policy Research (University of Munich), the Heinz Nixdorf Institute (University of Paderborn, Germany) and the University of Science and Technology Qingdao (China) are developing a special blended learning approach to raise the awareness of climate change issues amongst future Chinese decision makers. The main idea is to show the potentials of renewable energies and measures for energy efficiency, and furthermore give students a deeper understanding of the European Union. Approximately 60 Students from the economics faculty and the Chinese German Technical Faculty (CDTF) joined the presence seminar in Qingdao, China. Following a general introduction to climate change and energy issues students tested the simulation method and discussed their point of view according to their function within the simulation. Important part of the simulation process and our blended learning concept is a collaborative learning platform, which is especially designed for our online seminars.
