Abstract
This study investigated how an elementary teacher applied TINS to guide five 5th grade students to prepare for competition in a County Science Fair. Also, we investigated the changes of the participated teacher and students after they finished the research project. The results showed that different modules in TINS helped participants enhance the communication, to relieve pressure, to reinforce background information, to enhance discussion and cooperative learning, to keep records for research procedure, to keep records of action research process, to keep records of students' learning, and to schedule and plan ahead. TINS promoted professional development of the participated teacher in integrating technology into inquiry-based teaching and in performing action research. TINS also motivated students' interests and promoted students' abilities in conducting science research project. As a result, TINS helped the participated students and teachers to achieve the objectives of Science Fair.
