Abstract
English as a Second Language (ESL) educators have been constantly searching for effective teaching strategies to motivate students to learn for achieving better academic performances. This fact implies that each ESL educator has to gain a practical knowledge of how to apply technologies to facilitate their students' learning. This paper reviewed current literature in the fields of ESL and E-learning technologies. It is hoped to provide a theoretical foundation for ESL and E-Learning research. Two major issues are addressed in this paper. They are: (1) the advantage and importance of utilizing technology in ESL program and (2) how ESL teachers use technologies to assist their students in language acquisition.
