Abstract
This brief paper reports findings from an ongoing analysis of the electronic portfolio program required for early childhood, elementary, and middle school teacher certification at Central Missouri State University. The focus of this paper is on the impact of a change made in the software used for student construction of the portfolio. This change involved using Microsoft Word instead of Netscape Composer. The results of this small study indicate that the change to Microsoft Word had some advantages, but that it was not a panacea for the technology challenges involved in an electronic portfolio program.
