Alex joined the Harvard Graduate School of Education faculty in 2017 as the Librarian and Director of the Monroe C. Gutman Library. Previously, he served as education librarian and teaching faculty member at the American University School of Education in Washington, DC, where he taught educational technology integration courses within the teacher education program. Alex is also a doctoral student in curriculum and instruction, with an emphasis on educational technology, at the University of Florida's College of Education. Marilyn N. Ochoa is the Director for Library and Learning Center Services at Middlesex County College, where she actively seeks to implement educational technologies to transform library and tutoring services and create innovative, technology-rich informal learning spaces. She leads the library in maker services, digital library development, and use of open educational resources. She was previously the Associate Library Director at State University of New York at Oswego and Assistant Head of the University of Florida's Education Library, working significantly with UF educational technology faculty, preservice teachers, and online doctoral students. She is a member of the Society for Instructional Technology and Teacher Education, and served in various leadership roles since 2010, including as Associate Chair of the Teacher Education Council and liaison to the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). She was an ACRL Board of Directors’ Director-at-Large from 2012-2014. Her research covers a wide array of topics including online education, digital collections assessment and outreach,and collaborative teaching and learning tools.
