Abstract

The objectives of this presentation cover the importance of science, technology, and society within the social studies classroom. By using social network tools, students will be refining their critical thinking skills and prompting social inquiry. This poster presentation will highlight how social networking tools are aligned with social studies curriculum (e.g. facebook, twitter). The poster will include examples of lessons that teachers can use in the classroom as well as connections to national and state social studies standards. These social mediums foster global citizenship by encouraging communication through cross-cultural dialogues.
