Second Life? provides a rich environment for developing new educational landscapes that address learners’ desire to work in participatory, collaborative environments while providing experiences that might not be possible in real life. As in real life, myths and realities develop over time and cloud important issues. As educators, we must reveal the reality within the fog. This paper examines the real world behind Second Life? and implications as a learning environment.
