Abstract
Faculty development is a complex construct that combines pedagogies, technology, and subject matters. However, traditional faculty development either trains faculty to design /teach a course, or teaches faculty to learn specific technical skills. There is a separation between pedagogies and technology skill training. The Model of Faculty Development for Technology Integration was developed to connect pedagogies and technology, and was used to guide a course design. The purpose of this study is to appraise the Model during the design stage, and to look for factors that affect the course design process. Findings include dynamic roles of the faculty and the instructional designers, issues related to the course design, and technology selection. The results confirm the Model in the design stage.
